Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) said during a CNN report about President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race that Democrats could win the House, the Senate and the White House if Vice President Kamala Harris is the front-runner.
“Joe Biden’s decision today not to seek reelection marks the difference between a selfless president and a self-serving Donald Trump. I owe the president an enormous amount of gratitude for his career so far, as he has often forged ahead reluctantly despite having priorities and other directions he could have devoted himself to,” Swalwell said.
He continued, “I fully support Kamala Harris. In fact, she’s been mentored by the best. Joe Biden was vice president himself, so she’s probably worked for the best. She’s tough, she’s smart, she’s real, and she has everything we need to stand up to those who want to take away all our freedoms. You know, Trump’s Project 2025 is an all-out attack on our freedoms, ending abortion, forcing people to get married, banning books.”
Swalwell added, “As you know, Kamala is at the top of the list of candidates and, among many other options, I believe we can win the House, the Senate and the White House – all of which are now within our reach. I am seeing a reinvigoration among my constituents, my supporters and people across the country.”
