Former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California ridiculed Vice President Kamala Harris in a statement about President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
In a statement sent Sunday, Pelosi thanked Biden for his efforts but made no mention of Harris, despite Biden’s endorsement of her for the 2024 presidential election.
“President Joe Bien is a patriotic American who has always put country first. His vision, values and leadership make him one of the most significant presidents in American history,” she said.

She added, “My love and gratitude go out to President Biden, who has always believed in the promise of America and given people the opportunity to make it happen.”
“God has blessed America with the greatness and goodness of Joe Biden,” she said, ending her statement without mentioning Harris.
It is not yet clear how the Democratic Party plans to proceed with selecting its presidential nominee, or whether Harris will actually be the candidate.
Pelosi recently told her colleagues in California’s delegation that she would support a “competitive” process of open primary elections rather than nominating Harris if Biden were to suspend his campaign. The New York Times report.
She is reportedly a “friend and fan” of Harris but believes she will be stronger through the competitive convention process.
Her desire for an open primary is reportedly also influenced by polling data on who would win the election, with figures showing Harris performing only slightly better than Biden against former President Donald Trump.
