The Bidens are “world-renowned experts” in financial transfers, said Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas). Breitbart News DailyHe was reacting to news that President Joe Biden had dropped out of the presidential race and questions about whether his money would go directly to Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he endorses.
“To be honest with you, it was expected. I think the big question was whether it would come sooner or later,” Cloud said of the initial news that Biden was giving up on reelection.
“I didn’t think it would go through a brokered convention, and I thought so beforehand, but it was talked about all weekend and people expected it to be in the news on Sunday, and it was,” he said.
When asked by moderator Mike Slater whether Republicans would try to block Harris from receiving funds from Biden, she replied, “I believe so. That’s exactly what we’re saying.”
“I’m not an expert on campaign finance, obviously I run a successful campaign, but in terms of all the rules and regulations … the Bidens are world-renowned experts at moving money around, and I don’t think they won’t be able to find a way to raise money,” he said.
Slater asked whether Democrats could really choose a candidate “when they felt like it,” while Cloud pointed out the irony that Democrats claim to be the party of democracy while essentially ignoring their own voters.

“Democrats like to say they’re people-oriented — we the people at the center — but they have superdelegates, something the Republicans don’t have. They’re there specifically for cases like this, where they have to step in and make decisions that override the will of the people,” he said.
“Biden will come into this convention with all of the delegates that he’s voted for so far, and with his election, and, you know, his delegates will be released and Biden will ask them to vote for Kamala,” Cloud continued, adding, “At this point, really anything can happen.”
“Yesterday morning, J.D. Vance made the obvious point: if Joe is too sick to run for president, is he healthy enough to be president? What do you think about that? Are Republicans going to move forward with Kamala’s 25th Amendment move?” Slater asked, to which Cloud said he was already calling for Biden’s impeachment.
“Obviously, it would be tough to see Kamala become president even for a day, but right now we have someone who nobody knows who is running the White House,” he said. “And that’s a big concern given there are a few months left in the term.”
Cloud said the matter could come up for a vote, but he’s taking it one day at a time.
