Democrats have been accused by former President Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, of orchestrating a “coup” against President Joe Biden, who argued that if Biden is not fit to run for reelection, he should not be allowed to complete his term as president.

A coup is a “sudden and decisive exercise of power in politics” especially : According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it is “the violent overthrow or alteration of an existing government by a small group of people.”
Additionally, Cornell Law School explains that “the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, proposed by Congress and ratified by the states in the aftermath of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, establishes a procedure for replacing the president or vice president in the event of death, removal, resignation, or inability to perform their duties.”
In a video broadcast Monday morning Fox NewsThe Republican candidate cited Joe Biden’s declining health and mental state, as well as the news that he will not seek reelection.
Jesse Watters Fox News: “Will you investigate the people who hid Joe Biden’s condition?”
TRUMP: “Well, I think somebody needs to look into this. There were people who lied to the American people. And I’ll tell you… he should see his doctor, because his doctor keeps giving him great reports. I’m not a doctor, but I saw him the other day and he couldn’t make it up the kiddie stairs that go on to Air Force One.”
They went on to tell Watters on “Primetime” that Biden cannot be allowed to leave office in a way that only benefits his own party.
Trump also calmly replied “in a way” when asked if Biden dropped out of the race because of an internal “coup” against him, before Vance intervened.
Vance“Yes, I think so. There is a constitutional process.Number Amendment: If Joe Biden can’t run for president, he can’t serve as president.”
“And if they want to take him off because he is mentally unable to serve, they can invoke Article 25.Number “Amendment. You can’t do this in the way that’s most politically advantageous for Democrats. If this is a real issue, they should address it the appropriate way,” he continued.
Trump and Vance’s interview was recorded on Saturday ahead of Biden’s announcement Sunday that he was withdrawing from the 2024 general election and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.
Moreover, just hours before Biden declared, Vance reiterated his views on the matter on social media.
“Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right in saying all along that Biden is not mentally qualified to be commander in chief,” Vance said on X. “There is no middle ground.”
