Before appearing on the hood of a race car at the Brickyard 400, women’s basketball superstar Kaitlyn Clark said she was a huge NASCAR fan growing up.
Clark appeared in the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 4 Ford Mustang dark horse driven by Josh Berry. Food The car featured Clark wearing a University of Iowa jersey, the Donruss Trading Cards logo, and the words “Raining 3s”. The car was sponsored by Panini Trading Cards.

“Honestly, I grew up watching NASCAR. My mom was involved in NASCAR. So I’ve been a big NASCAR fan since I was a kid. It’s super cool.”

Berry, who drives for the Stewart-Haas team, said having Clark’s likeness on the bonnet of his car was a “great opportunity.”
“The recognition and popularity she’s garnered over the last few years has been really amazing to watch and it goes beyond just women’s basketball. Obviously, as a father of a daughter, I can’t necessarily connect the two right now, but I think it’s going to be something really cool to look back on as she grows up and continues her career,” he added.

Clark and the racing team plan to work together again in August 2024 to auction off food items to raise money for the Matt Alexander Memorial Baseball Scholarship Fund, which was established to honor the baseball player shot in the 2021 mass shooting at a FedEx facility.
Each year, the fund awards $1,600 to a high school senior baseball player to further his or her education.
