3M Open Preview:

This week, the PGA Tour is hosting the 3M Open in Minnesota, which will feature a host of stars, many of whom are looking to earn coveted FedEx Cup points to extend their season.

Four of the top 20 in the points standings and seven of the top 30 will be playing this week.

Some of the big names in the field include Tony Finau, Sahith Teegala, Akshay Bhatia, Billy Horschel and US Team Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley.

There will also be some young players competing this week, including amateur sensations Luke Clanton, Michael Thorbjornsen and Neil Shipley.

Another player in this category is Nick Dunlap, who won the Barracuda Championship last week, becoming the first PGA Tour player to win as both an amateur and a rookie in the same season.

Defending champion Lee Hodges will be looking to defend his title at TPC Twin Cities, while Keith Mitchell and Joel Dahmen are other favorites who could cause some drama.

Expect them to play tenaciously as they need the points, and while they love to have fun on the golf course, they need a strong finish to get through the season.

Dahmen is in a precarious position at 113th in the standings and Mitchell at 76th, so a good showing in Minnesota would be beneficial for both of them.

This week, it’s all about winning FedExCup points. It’s going to be a fierce tournament to see who can extend their season. The pressure is on. Who will come out victorious?
