Is he a racist?
For “Am I Racist,” the Daily Wire’s first theatrical release documentary, conservative podcaster Matt Walsh went undercover and donned a man bun while asking the big questions.
The outlet released a trailer for the upcoming documentary on Tuesday, showing Walsh on a journey through the world of anti-racism activism, studying literature, interviewing experts and looking deeply into his own mind.
Walsh previously starred in the 2022 documentary “What is a Woman.”
The Daily Wire will be releasing a new documentary about him on September 13th.
Before donning the man bun, Walsh was seen in the trailer being kicked out of an event because a woman apparently thought he wasn’t taking anti-racism seriously.
“To solve this problem, we need to go deeper. If we want to be on your side, we need to look like you’re on our side,” he explains in the trailer, donning a wig and tying his hair up to create a hippie look.
From there, he played the role of the “clumsy but enthusiastic DEI trainee” while jokingly discussing the possibility that anti-racism activists might be right.
Throughout the trailer, Walsh is seen infiltrating a party hosted by progressive supper club Race2Dinner last year and lecturing the mostly white female guests about racism.
Race2Dinner hosts private sessions with co-founders Regina Jackson and Saira Rao to discuss “white supremacy, racism and xenophobia” over a meal for around two hours, which can reportedly cost up to $5,000.
“Let’s be clear: What’s going on in this country is Nazism. Republicans are Nazis. You can’t walk away from bad white people,” Rao can be heard telling guests in the trailer.
Typically, eight women attend a compassion session, with the goal of having “very difficult conversations” about race.
Walsh, wearing a face mask and glasses, was seen serving food to the women while also learning about their racist tendencies.
“The whole system has to be burned. And I don’t even use the words ‘save this country’. This country is not worth saving. This country is shit,” Rao can be heard saying in the background. (It was not immediately clear how much of the content was redacted.)
Suddenly, Walsh dropped a plate, causing a bit of a commotion during dinner.
Near the end of the trailer, Walsh is seen interviewing Robin DiAngelo, author of “White Fragility.”
“I had to ask who it was because I had to be careful,” she said with a laugh.
“Am I Racist” is Walsh’s second original documentary for The Daily Wire.
“We can’t think of a more fitting film to be The Daily Wire’s first original theatrical release than AM I RACIST?,” Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boling said in a statement.
“We want this film to reach every corner of America, not just our core Daily Wire audience and political conservatives, and we truly believe that if this film is released theatrically across the country, it will have the power to drive the final nail in the coffin of the DEI and so-called ‘anti-racism’ movement.”
