New video shows assassination attempt of Trump at Pennsylvania rally

New video footage taken by a rally attendee shows the attempted assassination of former President Trump before a gunman opens fire and the shooter is shot dead.

John Maris captured the footage while watching a campaign event with his family next door at the American Glass Research (AGR) building in Butler, Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to climb the building to get a clear view of Trump, whose ear was wounded by gunfire, which left one spectator dead and several others injured.

Crooks, 20, is believed to have fired eight shots before being killed by sniper fire.

“About two minutes before the shooting started, we noticed people starting to say, ‘Hey, he’s climbing up here, he’s crawling around, he’s doing this and that,'” Mullis told Fox News. “We just assumed someone was trying to get a better look and we ignored it.”

“Three, maybe five. [rounds were heard]”Then we heard two counter-sniper shots,” he added.

Fox News was told by sources that one shot was fired by a local sniper and the other by a Secret Service sniper, with the latter ultimately firing the fatal shot.

Maris, a military veteran, said he was surprised by the lack of security around the event site.

“One of the first things I noticed when we walked in was that no one was being screened,” he said. “We were all along the fence. We could all see the stage. We could all see Trump.”

Malice also said all witnesses near the AGR building were outside the rally site and therefore did not have to go through metal detectors, even though they had a clear view of Trump up close.

One of the videos taken by Maris was captured on a dash camera.

“Everything was blocked off, so we were looking for a parking spot,” Mullis said when asked to describe what he saw when he filmed the video, “but then we noticed a bunch of cars parked on this road here, so we just drove along and thought it was safe. Then later, when I was watching the video again, I saw what looked like a thief crossing the road, so I zoomed in.”

“It turned out that it really was him,” he said. “So there was a video of him getting out of his car. There was a grey Hyundai, like a Sonata, parked there. He had nothing on him. Just his regular clothes. No backpack or anything. He was just walking towards the building. And then about two minutes later, someone else took a video of him on the other side of the building, over the fence.”

Mullis said one of the videos he has shows Crooks pointing the rifle at himself.

“Just before the Secret Service shot him, he rolled over and got up,” he said. “There’s a photo of him raising his rifle and pointing it at me and the other guys who were standing behind a tree. And that’s when the Secret Service shot him.”

He also said he was surprised there were no Secret Service agents on the roof where Crooks was stationed.
