The biggest question heading into the 2024 NFL season will be whether the Kansas City Chiefs can make history by winning a third consecutive Super Bowl.
According to NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is already thinking about that.
Irvin appeared on “The Jim Rome Show” on Monday and recounted the conversation he had with Kelce, who asked him “about that triple-winning game.”
Irvin led the Dallas Cowboys to a third consecutive championship in the 1994 season, but never made it to the Super Bowl.

“I said, ‘Every day. Every single day. When you put your head on the pillow at night, when you wake up in the morning and put a toothbrush to your teeth, you’re going to think about the balls you missed. You’re going to think about that ’94 championship game,'” Irvin told Rome, recalling his conversation with Kelce.
Irvin was talking about the Cowboys’ 38-28 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, who went on to beat the San Diego Chargers 49-26 to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Irvin’s quarterback, Troy Aikman, threw three interceptions to two touchdowns in the NFC final, but both were caught by Irvin, who finished with a team-high 12 catches for a game-high 192 yards.
But in the end, it wasn’t enough to win it all.

Giving it all on the field was a theme of conversation between Irvin and Kelce.
“I told him, ‘Whatever you do, do everything in your power to make it happen. … If you leave something on the table and you don’t get it, you’re going to be thinking about it for the rest of your life, just like I was,'” he said.
Irvin knows how competitive Kelce is and said he thinks the Chiefs have a good chance with the tight end already thinking about the next game after beating the Niners in overtime in Las Vegas to win back-to-back NFL championships.

People had doubts about the Chiefs during last year’s regular season, especially with no clear top receiver on the outside and Patrick Mahomes dropping passes one after another.
However, the Chiefs made the playoffs and defeated the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Finals en route to the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs bolstered their wide receiver corps with the free agent signing of Hollywood Brown and the draft pick of Xavier Worthy, who was the all-time record holder for the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. Rookie standout Rushe Rice was involved in a car accident in Dallas during the offseason and is uncertain for his availability to start the season.
But Kansas City will continue to be a problem for the league until a new Super Bowl champion is crowned.

The Chiefs are already considered a dynasty by many, but there’s no question about whether they can become the first team in league history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
