FBI raids former Hochul aide’s $3.5M Long Island home

A former aide to Gov. Kathy Hawkle was reportedly subjected to an FBI raid early Tuesday morning at her $3.5 million Long Island home.

Federal agents conducted a pre-dawn search of the five-bedroom property in a gated Manhasset community where one of Hawkle’s former deputy chiefs of staff, Linda Sun, lives. The New York Times reported..

The reason for the attack was not immediately clear.

Sources told the outlet that neither Sun, 40, nor her husband, Chris Foo, 41, have been accused of wrongdoing or arrested.

The search warrant was obtained by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, the source added.

The couple owned the sprawling home that was raided until transferring it to a trust in March, according to property records.

Sun has served in various government positions across New York state for 15 years, including in the Hawkeye administration and the administration of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, according to his LinkedIn profile.

During her time as an aide to Hawkle, Sun focused on business development, Asian American issues and diversity, equity and inclusion, her profile shows.

Sun, who attended Barnard College and Columbia University, left his executive position after 15 months to take a job with the New York State Department of Labor in 2022.

Meanwhile, her husband owns a liquor store in Flushing, Queens.

He has also founded various companies over the past decade, including Medical Supplies USA LLC, which he founded early in the COVID pandemic.

Efforts to contact Sun Yat-sen and Hu Jintao were not immediately successful.

The Washington Post also contacted Hoekl’s office and the FBI.
