Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (Democrat) fired back on Tuesday after former President Trump objected to his appearance on Fox News.
Trump Criticized He criticized Fox News for airing the governor on Tuesday, saying it was “making the governor fight a battle he doesn’t need to fight.”
“As a country boy, I can tell you that Donald Trump knows nothing about rural America,” Waltz said. Responded About X. “So he’s going to lose Minnesota, he’s going to lose Wisconsin, he’s going to lose Michigan, and he’s going to lose Pennsylvania.”
Trump has claimed a lead in Minnesota, but recent polls have shown him and President Biden neck and neck in the state and in other Midwest battleground states. No new state polls have been conducted since Vice President Harris joined the campaign.
Minnesota has voted Democratic for president for decades, but Mr. Trump is focused on flipping the state this November, and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), is scheduled to campaign in Minneapolis this week.
Speaking on Fox News, Waltz said Republicans were now “fixated” on Trump and Democrats were pushing for Harris as their interim candidate.
“He’s yours, you’ve got him, welcome,” Walz said of Trump.
He also slammed Vance for criticizing the Democratic nominee change.
“J.D. Vance, take care of yourself is what I tell them,” he said. “We’ll figure something out.”
