Justin Timberlake is scheduled to appear in court in Long Island on Friday morning on suspicion of drunk driving from last month.
It was unclear whether the 43-year-old pop singer, who is due to perform two shows in Poland as part of his “Forget Tomorrow World” tour, will appear in person at the 9:30 a.m. hearing or whether he will be represented by a lawyer.
Timberlake made headlines when he was arrested in Sag Harbor in the early hours of June 18th after running a stop sign near the luxury American Hotel.
The former NSYNC member failed a field sobriety test and was arrested on one count of DUI.
Timberlake is “prepared to face the necessary consequences” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“He wants to learn from this experience and put it behind him,” the source added, noting that the singer’s wife, actress Jessica Biel, “is very supportive of him and helps him in every way.”
Timberlake’s arrest immediately sparked a flood of internet memes, especially after news broke that the officer who pulled him over didn’t recognize the former teen heartthrob.
When Timberlake protested that an arrest would “ruin the tour,” the bewildered officer asked him to explain further.
At his first Chicago concert since his arrest, the father of two thanked his fans for their support.
“It’s been a tough week,” he said. It was recognized at the time“I know sometimes it’s hard to love me, but you still love me and I love you.”
