Justin Timberlake to Appear in Court for Drunk Driving Charge

Pop star Justin Timberlake is scheduled to appear in court in Long Island on Friday morning on charges of drunk driving from last month.

The “What Goes Around… Comes Around” singer was arrested in the village of Sag Harbor on New York’s Long Island on June 18. Police say he was released without bail after being charged with DUI.

The singer’s lawyer told media that Timberlake was charged “with one count of refusing to submit to a breath test.”

“Mr. Timberlake was charged with two counts of disregarding a stop sign and failing to stay in the correct lane,” his attorney, Ed Burke, added.

According to the police report, Timberlake refused drug and alcohol tests, his eyes were “bloodshot and hollow,” he smelled strong of alcohol, he spoke slowly and was unable to pay attention.

Timberlake, who is also headlining the Forget Tomorrow World Tour, was reportedly arrested on Monday night after being seen running a stop sign and crossing the road in his BMW X7 following a night out with friends at the bar at The American Hotel.

A source close to the singer Said Tonight’s Entertainment Timberlake is “prepared to face whatever consequences are necessary.”

“He wants to learn from this experience and put it behind him,” the source added, adding that the singer’s wife, actress Jessica Biel, is “very supportive of him and helps him in every way.”

“On June 18, 2024 at 12:37 a.m., Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Avenue, failing to stop at the required stop sign and failing to maintain in his lane of travel,” the Sag Harbor Police Department said in a statement.

“Officers from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department conducted a traffic stop and, after an investigation, it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating a vehicle while intoxicated,” the statement continued.

Sag Harbor police added that the “Sexy Back” singer was “arraigned and, following processing, held overnight for arraignment in the morning,” and that he was “arraigned on June 18, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in Sag Harbor Village Court and released on bail.”
