Bethel Park, Pennsylvania – Former President Donald Trump is set to return to Pennsylvania for another appearance in Harrisburg on Wednesday, weeks after the assassination attempt at a rally in Butler.
The Republican candidate is scheduled to address supporters at the Pennsylvania Agricultural Exposition, about 220 miles from the Butler Agricultural Exposition grounds where gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks was shot July 13, grazing one arm and one head.
Matt Meisel, communications director for the city of Harrisburg, told Fox News Digital on Friday that Trump has “visited the fairgrounds multiple times during his presidency” and that the city has “not experienced any issues each time the president has been here.”
He also said that Harrisburg police would only be responsible for traffic control near the rally site, while security inside the site would be handled by the Secret Service, Pennsylvania State Police and Pennsylvania Capitol Police.

“Certainly there have been run-of-the-mill protests outside the complex, but there have been no issues associated with that,” Meisel said.
The U.S. Secret Service was tight-lipped about security measures for the event or whether they would be stepped up in the wake of the assassination attempt earlier this month.
“The safety and security of our protected individuals is the U.S. Secret Service’s highest priority. Due to operational security concerns, the Secret Service does not discuss the methods or means used in our protective operations.”

Pennsylvania State Police told Fox News Digital they are assisting the U.S. Secret Service with security for the incident.
“Pennsylvania State Police regularly assists USSS and our federal partners during large events in Pennsylvania and will always provide all resources necessary to keep Pennsylvanians safe,” the police department said in an email Friday.
