The largest quarterback contract in NFL history was agreed to on Friday.
Jordan Love has agreed to a four-year, $220 million contract extension with the Packers, becoming the highest-paid quarterback in league history, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
He will also receive a $75 million signing bonus. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport,.
The 25-year-old earned the big contract despite only starting one season.
But the budding superstar threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns while leading Green Bay to the second round of last year’s playoffs.
The point guard comes into the league after a stellar collegiate career at Utah State, where he led the school in total offense with 9,003 yards and also led the team in total 300-plus passing yards with 12 times.
His performance was so eye-catching that the Packers took him with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The deal was signed the same day the Dolphins signed Tua Tagovailoa to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension.
