Former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami has criticized the way Republicans are set to win the November election, including ending calls for President Joe Biden to resign, which would allow Vice President Kamala Harris to run as the incumbent.
Appearing on X on Thursday night, Ramaswamy offered three criticisms of specific arguments some conservatives are making about Harris and Biden that he believes will only hurt Republicans in November.
“It is time for our side to wake up to the harsh reality,” he wrote.
The time has come for us to quickly wake up to the harsh reality.
1. Stop calling for Biden to step down or be kicked out. That way Kamala will have all the benefits of running as a sitting US President. And she will not be any better for America than Biden over the next 5 months…

In the post, which had garnered more than 115,000 likes by Friday afternoon, Ramaswamy began by pointing out that Biden stepping down in the final five months of his presidency would only work in Harris’ favor and give her power as incumbent, and that Republicans should stop calling for Biden to resign or be removed from office.
“Please stop calling for Biden to step down or be kicked out. That would give Kamala all the benefits of running as a sitting US President. And she will do no more for America than Biden will over the next 5 months,” he posted.
He then argued that Republicans should stop attacking Harris for sending too many people to prison as a former prosecutor.
“This lends credence to the otherwise absurd claim that she is a ‘law and order’ candidate,” he said.
Third, they noted that the allegation that Harris helped oust Biden and the allegation that Harris “covered up to help Biden” contradict each other.
“Please don’t say Kamala covered up to help Biden and at the same time say Kamala staged a coup to take down Biden. It doesn’t make sense to say both at the same time,” he wrote. “And if you say something that doesn’t make sense, you’ll lose votes.”
Ramaswami argued that while Harris doesn’t pose the biggest risk to the Republican Party, the risk is that she strays from the GOP nominee’s messaging toward former President Donald Trump and the party’s future.
“We’re going to win this election by being clear about who we are and what we stand for: merit. Free speech. Self-governance. The rule of law,” he concluded. “A historic landslide victory for Trump is still within reach. It’s up to us to seize it.”
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk agreed with Ramaswami.
Words of wisdom

“Wise words,” he replied to the post.
Ramaswamy has long maintained that Democrats will remove Biden from the running, including in August 2023. I got it.He also spoke at the final Republican presidential debate in November.
“Let’s end this farce of Joe Biden being the nominee,” Ramaswamy told Democrats during the debate. “We know he’s not even the president of the United States. He’s a puppet of the managerial class.”

“So let’s be courageous and be honest about who we actually support and have an honest debate,” he added, at which point he called on Biden to drop his candidacy.
