Jennifer Garner stuck in elevator for over an hour at Comic-Con San Diego before ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ appearance

Jennifer Garner attended the famous San Diego Comic-Con for the first time this year, but nearly missed her chance to get there in time because of a broken elevator.

The actress, who was there to support her cameo in “Deadpool and Wolverine,” shared a series of videos documenting the ordeal. On her Instagram, With the caption, “Baby’s First Comic Con: A Short Story.”

After two minutes of being trapped, Garner said, “Hey guys, we’re stuck in this elevator. Um, I want Wolverine. I want Deadpool. I want somebody.”

Another person said they were looking for the stairs, and Garner agreed, before concluding with, “Thanks for being here. My first Comic-Con. Bye!”

In the next video, Garner is seen saying at the 11-minute mark that she’s “getting hot” and “sweaty,” and joking that she “has to wipe it off.”

Forty-five minutes later, she was singing “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall” while someone from her team called and explained that they were stuck in a “shithole” elevator.

At the hour mark, there were noises and beeps suggesting something was being repaired, and Garner began quietly singing Madonna’s “Like a Prayer,” a song that features prominently in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Finally, after an hour and 12 minutes, firefighters arrived and opened the door, eliciting cheers from Garner and her team.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Garner for comment on the incident.

It’s unclear when the elevator chaos occurred, but Garner was attending a Hall H screening of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, on Thursday night.

Garner’s role in the film was kept secret leading up to the movie’s release, but she and other stars, including Chris Evans, Channing Tatum and Wesley Snipes, took to the stage after the screening to talk about her cameo.

The 52-year-old actress reprised her role as Elektra in the 2003 film “Daredevil,” opposite her ex-husband Ben Affleck, and in the film’s standalone spinoff, “Elektra.”

In Deadpool & Wolverine, Garner jokes about Affleck, to whom she was married from 2005 to 2018.

When Reynolds’ Deadpool learns that some of Morrell’s past characters from the story — including Affleck’s superhero Daredevil — don’t survive, he offers his condolences, to which Garner’s Elektra shrugs and says, “Oh, it’s OK.”

The former couple have three children together – Violet, Seraphina and Samuel – and, all jokes aside, have maintained a friendly and amicable co-parenting relationship over the years.
