The U.S. men’s gymnastics team won the bronze medal, their first medal in the sport in 16 years.

On Monday, Frederick Richard, Paul Judah, Brody Malone, Asher Hong and Steven Nedorosik won the bronze medal for Team USA, the men’s gymnastics team’s first medal since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The group had risen from fifth place in the qualifying round to third with just one final rotation remaining out of six different competitions.
Before the rotation, they were 1.798 points ahead of Ukraine and 3.966 points ahead of Great Britain.
Judah placed first among three selected U.S. competitors, earning a score of 13.900. Malone, after a tough qualifying day, earned a score of 13.700 on a pommel with a score of 12.100.
Nedorosic was the final U.S. athlete to perform in the rotation and secured the victory with 14.866 points.
The U.S. team’s final score was 257.793 points. Japan won the gold medal with 259.594 points, and China won the silver medal with 259.062 points.
