“I realized I had to take a step back and do a lot of work on myself to make sure I was confident in who I was and creating the brand I wanted to create. Over the years, I’ve realized that’s okay. People are entitled to their opinions.”

“To be honest, sometimes it sounds like criticism or hate, but I think a lot of people don’t actually really mean it that way. I think in a way, they’re trying to help. So even if I get a comment that’s critical of me, I try to listen because maybe I can learn from it, maybe I can better myself, maybe I can adapt.”

Overall, Spiranac said it’s best not to take every little comment too seriously.

“Life is tough, and social media can be a pretty depressing place if you let certain things weigh on you. So if you step back and look at it from a different perspective, it can be an incredibly positive and wonderful community.”
