Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua given ‘green light’ to shoot police officers: Reports

According to multiple reports, a violent Venezuelan street gang called Tren de Aragua has given its members a “license” to attack and shoot police officers.

The gang reportedly notified its members that attacks had begun targeting police officers in the United States. The New York Post reported.He cited a government memo obtained by the newspaper.

“Today’s designation of Tren de Aragua as a significant transnational criminal organization underscores the growing threat this organization poses to American communities.”

The memo, which appears to have come from the Department of Homeland Security Investigations in Chicago, advises agents to be “vigilant” if they encounter gang members or gang associates.

“A reliable source in Colorado provided information regarding TdA. [Tren de Aragua] “It gave a ‘green light’ to shoot and attack police,” the memo said.

“As you are aware, TdA has a base in Chicago and we ask that you remain vigilant if you encounter any TdA members or associates during investigations or operations,” the memo reportedly added.

The newspaper added that the tip from Colorado came through the Albuquerque Police Department in New Mexico.

Warnings about the dangerous Tren de Aragua Order were also included in a bulletin from the Colorado Information and Analytical Center. Fox News reportedThe cable network added that Albuquerque police had received concerning information from “federal partners.”

“The Albuquerque, New Mexico Police Department (APD) is issuing this Officer Safety Bulletin to inform police of information regarding the Tren de Aragua criminal organization and reports that TDA members in Denver have been given the ‘green light’ to shoot and attack police,” the bulletin reads.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a statement to Torren de Aragua stating:attractive They are involved in a range of criminal activities, including human trafficking, smuggling, gender-based violence, money laundering and illegal drug trafficking.”

“Today’s designation of Tren de Aragua as a significant transnational criminal organization underscores the heightened threat this organization poses to American communities,” Under Secretary of State for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said on July 11.

“We will use all of our resources and authority against organizations like Tren de Aragua that prey on vulnerable people, engage in a wide range of criminal activities across borders, and abuse the U.S. financial system,” Nelson said.

On the same day, the U.S. State Department offered A reward of up to $12 million is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of gang leaders.

Specifically, the State Department has offered a reward of between $3 million and $5 million for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Tren de Aragua leaders Hector Rustenford Guerrero (aka “Niño Guerrero”), Johan Jose Romero (aka “Johan Petrica”), and Giovanni San Vicente (aka “Giovanni,” “Viejo Viejo,” and “El Viejo”).

Members of Tren de Aragua illegally cross the southern border into the United States and are seeking asylum.

As The Blaze News previously reported, two undocumented immigrants with ties to Tren de Aragua were accused of assaulting two NYPD officers in January.

A report released last month said there were more than 100 ongoing criminal investigations in the United States related to the Tren de Aragua case.

Jose Ibarra, the illegal immigrant accused of murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, is reportedly a member of Tren de Aragua.
