Alicia Schmidt is turning heads both on and off the track.
The German track and field star, long dubbed “the world’s sexiest athlete” by fans and websites, will compete in the mixed 4×400-meter relay at the Paris Games.
The 25-year-old will make her Olympic debut in athletics at the Stade de France after qualifying at the IAAF World Championships Relays in the Bahamas in May.
Schmidt has a huge following on social media.
The smokeshow, who boasts more than seven million followers across his Instagram and TikTok accounts combined, shared a message on Instagram, saying the opportunity to compete in Paris was the fulfillment of his “biggest dream.”
“My biggest dream has come true! In one month I will be in Paris and making memories that will last a lifetime. This thought has motivated me every day these past few years and reminds me why it’s important to never give up on your goals and keep working hard,” she wrote.
“No matter how big your dreams are, if you are determined and believe in yourself, good things will happen.”
Schmidt posted a video of his reaction to the news on TikTok, and his emotional response quickly went viral, garnering more than 2 million views.

She has qualified to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Schmidt qualified and traveled with the team to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed due to the pandemic, but was not selected to race and announced he would be taking a “rest period” from the track, opening up about his struggles with COVID-19 and injuries during the 2021 season.

In 2017, Schmidt and her German team won the silver medal in the 4x400m relay at the European Athletics U20 Championships.

“If I go into a competition without being nervous, I won’t do well,” she says. “I tell myself that I’ve prepared as well as I can to be at my best on the day. And if I don’t do well, that’s OK, because I couldn’t have done better. Sooner or later, all that hard work will pay off. That’s why I deal with pressure in a positive way.”
“If I don’t get nervous, I won’t do it well. It’s part of the job,” Schmidt said when asked, “Are you not nervous anymore?”
She then thanked her loved ones and team “for believing in me and supporting my journey as an athlete.”
