As a result of his strong pitching this season, Sproat, who began the season with the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones, was selected to play in the MLB Futures All-Star Game, which features MLB’s most promising players.
He threw 12 scoreless pitches in a July game at Globe Life Field in Texas.
A Pensacola native, Sproat played college basketball at the University of Florida and reached the College World Series in 2023 with the Gators.
