Martha Stewart has taught millions cooking and cleaning tips, how to stay organized plus more through her lifestyle brand

Martha Stewart was born in New Jersey on August 3, 1941. Before she became the face of a popular lifestyle brand, she was a Wall Street stockbroker.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in history and architectural history from Barnard College and marrying Andrew Stewart, who became a Wall Street stockbroker, she moved on to a new career by founding a catering company.

In 1982, Stewart published the first of many books, “Entertaining,” a book about how to host gatherings of all sizes.

Then came Stewart’s lifestyle magazines, published by Time Publishing Ventures, and the syndicated television show Martha Stewart Living.

From there, Stewart began launching various product lines, mostly home goods.

Stewart’s company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1999.

Stewart’s career was interrupted in 2004 when he spent five months in prison and five months on house arrest.

Her incarceration was linked to her involvement in insider trading in December 2001, when she sold a large amount of stock in biopharmaceutical company ImClone Systems Inc. the day before the company released adverse news.

After serving his sentence, Stewart returned to the public eye.

Over the years, she continued to make television appearances in shows like “Martha Bakes” and “Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart.”

The lifestyle expert has teamed up with Snoop Dogg on multiple occasions, including on the TV series “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge.”

“I’ve never met anyone like Martha Stewart,” Snoop Dogg previously told Rolling Stone, “and when we come together, love, peace and harmony just blends so naturally.”

In addition to her own TV shows and appearances, Stewart has also published 100 books over the years. Her books cover a variety of subjects, including recipes, organization tips, and more.
