A suspected gang member who allegedly shot and killed two NYPD sergeants during an armed robbery was caught giving officers the middle finger while sitting in a jail cell. Obtained By New York Post show.

“This is a snapshot of everything that’s wrong with our city right now – a repeat offender with no respect for the law, no regard for human life and no fear of facing any consequences,” said Patrick Hendry, president of the Police Benevolent Association. of post.
“The justice system needs to show he’s wrong. Until the message on the streets changes, attacks on police officers will not stop.”
Dorsett, an alleged member of New York City’s Up the Hill Gang, was reportedly being questioned by two NYPD sergeants after he allegedly used a gun to threaten a customer and steal his wallet at a mahjong parlor on Canal Street.
Security camera footage obtained by FOX 5 shows him rampaging through the store in a hoodie and face mask, terrorizing customers.

As officers attempted to arrest Dorsett on nearby Eldridge Street, he fired one shot, hitting two officers, police said.
According to the NYPD, Sergeant Carl Johnson was shot in the groin and the same bullet later grazed Sergeant Christopher Reape’s left leg.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenney told reporters Thursday evening that a .45-caliber Taurus semi-automatic handgun was recovered from the crime scene.
Police said Reape has since been released from the hospital, but Johnson remains hospitalized with shrapnel in his thigh.
The shooting happened just hours after Dorsett, who was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and assault, met with his parole officer, police said. post.
Police say the suspect has a lengthy criminal record, including at least three arrests for illegal possession of controlled substances.
“Dorset [allegedly] “Between March 8 and June 6, 2022, he made six sales of crack cocaine to undercover officers,” the outlet reported, citing a criminal complaint.
