Olympic fans stunned by Femke Bol’s ‘Mickey Mouse’ voice

Dutch sprinter Femke Boll led the Netherlands to gold with a stunning anchor leg in the Olympic 4x400m race on Saturday, after which a resurfaced high-pitched voice from an interview became a hot topic on social media.

In an interview with the BBC after setting a world indoor 400m record in March, Boll spoke in a particularly high-pitched voice that led some X users to liken him to Mickey Mouse.

“I swear if I close my eyes I can believe Mickey Mouse just broke the 400m indoor world record in the Netherlands,” one post was captioned. “I saw this last night and she [an] An incredible person and an incredible achievement. But oh my, that’s all I can think of: Femke Boll, you are amazing.”

However, it’s worth noting that this is not how Boll normally sounds – perhaps it was a product of the adrenaline that followed the race.

Either way, Boll’s incredible anchor run in the rain at the Stade de France on Saturday to beat the United States by 0.31 seconds will go down as one of the greatest sporting feats of the Olympic Games ever.
