The Kahal Ahavas Yisroel synagogue in Hollywood, California, was vandalized in late July, marking the second time this summer, according to local reports.

Security camera footage shows the moment two men in hooded clothing cross Melrose Street on Thursday and stop in front of the Kahal Ahavas Yisroel synagogue, where one of them can be seen smashing the front window with an unidentified object.
Synagogue board member Denis Dror said the video shows a man using a hammer or baton to smash each window, all the while recording on the other suspect’s cellphone.

as a result [of the second incident]Los Angeles Police Department investigators have opened an investigation into both incidents as possible hate crimes, which Dror believes is definitely the case.
In June, pro-Palestinian mobs targeted another synagogue in what Jewish community members called a “pogrom.”
Crowds of protesters tried to prevent Jews from entering synagogues to pray and study, and to block access to real estate forums for buying property in Israel.
Since the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks on Israel, the United States has seen a surge in anti-Semitism on liberal college campuses and in Democratic-run cities, and local leaders have often been slow to respond.
