UN Fires Employees Over Possible Involvement In Oct. 7 Attack: REPORT

The UN announced on Monday that it was firing nine staff members for their possible involvement in the October 7 attack, The Times of Israel reported.

The United Nations has launched an investigation into 19 employees of the Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and found evidence that nine of them may have taken part in Hamas attacks in southern Israel, news agencies reported. report. “The employment of these individuals will be terminated in the interest of the United Nations,” the Internal Oversight Office said, according to the Times of Israel. Of those still employed, the UN said it had assessed that nine had insufficient evidence for their October 7 actions and one had no evidence.

In January, many countries suspended funding to UNRWA following allegations that some of its staff were involved in the October massacre.
