Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles bow to Rebeca Andrade in epic Olympics photo

The gymnastics competition at the Paris Olympics came to a close with one magical final spin.

Following the women’s floor exercise final on Monday, Rebecca Andrade, Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles posed for photos with each other on the podium.

But the funny thing was when Biles and Chiles bowed in respect to gold medalist Andrade, who was smiling and raising his arms in triumph.

“This is it,” he wrote. OlympicX official account The post garnered more than 550,000 likes in less than six hours after it was shared.

The 25-year-old Andrade narrowly beat the American star to the gold medal, scoring 14.166 points to Biles’ 14.133.

Chiles, meanwhile, won the bronze medal with 13.766 points, marking her first Olympic medal in an individual event, and she has also won medals in two team events, including this year’s gold.

Andrade has won two silver medals in the individual all-around and women’s vault, and one bronze medal in the team all-around, making this her first gold medal at the 2024 Olympics.

The Brazilian also held her own against a strong U.S. team in Tokyo three years ago, winning gold on the vault and silver in the individual all-around.

For the second consecutive Olympic Games, the Andrade vs. Biles match was fierce but also one that instilled respect for each other.

“I don’t want to compete with Rebecca anymore. I’m tired!” Biles said. USA Today“It was so close. … It definitely made me nervous and it brought out the best athlete in me. So I’m excited and proud to compete against her, but … I don’t love it!”

Chiles also wanted to respond to the show of support.

“Why wouldn’t we give her flowers? Not only did she give Simone flowers, but a lot of us in the U.S. gave flowers,” Childs said. “So it’s just so beautiful to give back. So we felt like it was something that needed to be done.”

Biles narrowly beat Andrade to win the gold medal on vault, but stumbled on the balance beam and fell to fifth place.

Still, the gymnast known by many as the GOAT won a total of four medals in Paris, including three golds.
