Vance to make stops in same battleground states as Harris this week

Republican vice presidential nominee, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), is scheduled to campaign in a series of battleground states that Vice President Harris is scheduled to visit this week with her yet-to-be-announced running mate.

The Trump campaign announced that Vance will address reporters in Philadelphia on Tuesday, the same day that Harris is scheduled to make her running mate debut in the city.

On Wednesday, Vance is scheduled to visit Shelby Township, Michigan, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the same day that Harris is scheduled to visit both key battleground states.

Harris, the Republican vice presidential nominee, will then speak in North Carolina on Thursday, her campaign said, before visiting North Carolina and Georgia the same day and Arizona and Nevada later in the week.

Vence’s journey Set to “Bracket” While two screens showed Senator Harris’ visit to battleground states, the first-term Ohio senator herself dismissed criticism from both Democrats and Republicans that she was unsuitable as former President Trump’s vice presidential nominee.

The Trump campaign has suggested Vance plans to address reporters in each state and will use the battleground state tour to attack Harris on crime, inflation and the border, after Harris announced her own multi-state tour last week.

Republicans are preparing to launch an attack on whoever Harris chooses as her running mate, who is expected to be announced by Tuesday and who will appear with her at a rally in Philadelphia before kicking off a five-day campaign tour of seven battleground states.

President Biden’s historic decision to drop out of the race last month set off an unexpected search for Harris’ running mate. Harris has the necessary Democratic votes to receive the party’s formal endorsement. Reports suggest the field has been narrowed down to a handful of party heavyweights, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (Democrat) and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly (Democrat), both of whom are known for coming from key battleground states, as well as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Harris’ newly formed campaign has been gaining momentum in recent weeks, and some in the party believe her campaigning this week is more important as key battleground states become hot-button again as she trails her Republican rivals in recent polls.
