As Kamala Harris prepares to announce her running mate, she is faced with a choice: act or DEI.
In an interview with The Hill, Breakfast Club‘s Charlaman the God opined on Kamala Harris’ questionable status as a “DEI hire,” a label that mainstream news media is actively trying to dispel, even as Joe Biden himself touts Harris as a key part of his DEI efforts, which stands for diversity, equity (socialism), and inclusion.
Charlaman the God joked that Kamala’s DEI meant “straight white male” as a vice presidential candidate.
“We can’t be here acting like she doesn’t need straight white men,” he said in an interview. “We talk so much about DEI hiring, but she needs straight white men.”
“She’s going to need a straight white man to convince a lot of people in the Midwest that she’s the right candidate,” he added.
Kamala Harris has reportedly narrowed her list of running mates to just a few white men, including Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is gay. Other candidates include Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D), Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), Sen. Mark Kelly (D), and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (D).
Kamala Harris badly needs to win Pennsylvania to win the election, but picking Shapiro would alienate millions of woke progressives because he is Jewish and has defended Israel’s right to exist, as well as many Muslim voters in Michigan, another battleground state.
Reuters reported on Monday that Kamala had narrowed her options to either Shapiro or Walz.
