Former President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that the United States would rocket toward communism if Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz win the 2024 election.
“This pairing has never been seen before,” Trump, 78, said during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” after Harris selected the Minnesota governor as her running mate.
“This is a vote for this country to become communist quickly, no, much sooner.”
Just hours before the Republican presidential candidate slammed his Democratic rival, Elon Musk also slammed Harris in a post on X, calling her a “literal communist.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Trump criticized Waltz, a darling of the far-left, and claimed he was “thrilled” that the Democrats had chosen a progressive candidate for president.

“He’s a very liberal guy,” the former commander in chief said. “His selection is shocking and I’m thrilled. I couldn’t be more excited.”
“If you look at his track record of no walls, no security, letting anyone in, he’s worse than them. Nobody knew how radical left she was, but he’s a smarter version of her,” Trump added, referring to Harris.
“If you want to know the truth, he’s probably as good as Bernie Sanders. He’s probably more than Bernie Sanders. She’s more than Bernie Sanders. That should be your guide, Bernie Sanders, but it’s not a great guide.”
Trump doubled down on his stance, slamming the Midwest governor’s far-left record on everything from immigration and transgender issues to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter riots.
“He’s very pro-transgender and he thinks anything transgender is great, but from a national standpoint he hasn’t changed anything,” Trump said.
“I think this is a shocking choice and it’s very insulting to Jewish people and it’s very insulting to people who seek safety,” he continued.
“I think this is a huge affront to the purpose of making America great again.”
