Attorney George Conway said on MSNBC’s “Deadline” on Wednesday that there are no sane people left in the Republican Party.
Host Nicolle Wallace said, “I think it’s very transparent to be publicly associating with these extremists and not hiding behind the internet. But I really wonder why anyone would hide that Trump lost in 2018, 2020 and 2022 because he was too extreme, not because he appealed to too many swing voters. Chris Christie’s whole story about his defeat in the primary against Donald Trump encapsulates the problem with these relationships. Why continue the behavior that leads to defeat?”
“I think the explanation is that this is a kind of disease, a pathology, where you have a psychopathic authoritarian leader and all of the lines that weren’t crossed before have been crossed in what he says about race, sex, ethnicity, conspiracy theories, etc,” Conway said.
He added: “I mean, you have someone like Jack Posobiec, you have Laura Loomer being pushed out by Donald Trump, you have someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene in Congress. There’s no sanity left in the Republican Party. They’re pushing out sane people.”
