Newly released body camera footage shows the moment a police officer is hoisted onto the roof where attempted Trump assassin Thomas Crooks was sitting and stares down the barrel of the gunman.
The video is, Obtained by Fox News DigitalThat’s the message from Butler Township Police officers who climbed onto the roof of AGR International on July 13.
The officer is seen being lifted by another officer and then struggling to pull himself up while peering over the edge of the roof.
He quickly dropped to the ground and sprinted around the building, appearing to warn fellow officers and passers-by watching nearby.
Seconds later, Crooks opened fire at the former president’s rally, striking a bystander in the ear and killing him. The suspect died within seconds of the first shot.
The clip starts out silent, but about halfway through the clip the volume increases, revealing the chaos in the scene.
“He has glasses and long hair,” the officer said, describing the backpack and AR-15 rifle Crooks was carrying.

Police officers could be heard over their radios calling for an ambulance to be sent to the rally’s VIP tent.
The officers stood back for a moment, surrounding the building, then moved forward and began pushing each other onto the roof.
The officer who first peered from the roof demanded that he return to the roof and could be seen lying dead with a long trail of blood running down the slope of the roof.
The ledge he climbed was about 12 feet above the ground, and when Crooks pointed his weapon at him, he fell about eight feet, spraining his ankle.
Butler Township Police Lt. Matthew Pearson previously said officers were unable to draw their guns on Crooks because his hands were restrained as he tried to get onto the roof, an incident that was clearly visible on his body camera footage.
Later in the video, the officer appears to become upset that police were not communicating on the same radio channel.
“Before you motherfuckers got here, I was poking my head in like an idiot on my own,” he says, “and then he turned around and I fell over and started fucking around on the roof screaming motherfucker.”
“Damn, are we on different frequencies?”
