The Base Is ‘75% of the Country’

Former President Donald Trump said at a press conference on Thursday that his base of support makes up 75 percent of the country and goes far beyond the Republican Party.

When arguing why he didn’t pursue an effort to arrest his former rival Hillary Clinton, Trump argued that it would divide the country, but when the tables were turned, Democrats didn’t act gracefully and went all out against Trump.

“And she [Hillary Clinton] “She did a lot of very bad things. I’ll tell you what kind of person she was. She was a pretty evil person, but in terms of the country, in terms of uniting and reclaiming the country, to have her captured and put in prison … was a very bad thing that she did. I think it was very bad for our country,” he said.

“A lot of my supporters are what we call MAGA (Native American Gadgets), and I think their support base is 75 percent of the country, far more than the Republican Party, because we are the party of common sense,” Trump said, describing himself as a “common sense man.”

“I want low taxes. I want strong borders. I want to have a strong military where China and Russia can work together to achieve the impossible. China and Russia have always been arch enemies. China needs more land, Russia has it. They’ve always been arch enemies, but because of Obama, first him, then Biden, because he didn’t know what the hell he was doing. Now they’re one force,” he said.

“And now they’re adding Iran to the mix, they’re adding North Korea to the mix. These are pretty powerful forces. I can’t imagine they’re going to allow this to happen,” Trump added.
