Harris mocked for taking less than 2 minutes of questions after 18 days: ‘This is the best Kamala could do?’

After being criticized for not speaking to the media for 18 days, Vice President Kamala Harris came under fire Thursday for taking less than two minutes to answer questions from reporters.

After former President Trump held a lengthy afternoon press conference, the vice president answered some questions on an airport tarmac during a campaign stop in Michigan.

A reporter asked Harris to comment on criticism that she has not given any interviews or formal press conferences since becoming a front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“I’ve spoken with the team and hope to schedule an interview by the end of this month,” Harris replied.

Conservative X users were bewildered by the “nonsense” and “nonsense” they received from the media, as well as Harris’ vague promise to schedule an interview by “the end of the month.”

Radio host Ari Hoffman said, “Trump has spent endless hours answering unvetted questions from the press, spending days in radio interviews and on phone calls with reporters. Is this the best Kamala can do? Will the press accept such a pithy comment?”

“When Biden’s political life was on the line, his team scheduled two interviews and a press conference within the space of a few weeks. Before Harris had even completed one, he’s now doing another,” Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese wrote.

“You’d be shocked to know that Kamala Harris finally answered a few questions without speaking for even a minute, all of which were easy questions and two of which were ‘tell me how bad Trump is’. The media is not going to recover from this. They have no credibility left,” Red State reporter Bonchie said.

“Oh, so you’re saying the Democratic candidate who hasn’t done an on-camera interview since Biden withdrew on July 21 is going to do one in the next 23 days,” said Jim Geraghty, senior political reporter at National Review.

“One interview a month? I know it takes time to write and memorize, but come on,” exclaimed lawyer Costas Moroz.

“Until the end of the month, haha,” laughed National Review editor Philip Klein.

Harris has yet to set up an interview, but she and Trump have agreed to hold a presidential debate on September 10 on ABC.

Trump also suggested additional debates could be held on Fox News and NBC next month, but Harris gave no specifics.

“I’m happy to discuss holding additional debates after September 10th,” Harris said.

“[Trump] “I’ve proposed two more,” the reporter said.

“Like I said, I’m happy to have that conversation,” she said.
