Former Biden adviser jabs 'certain leaders' for losing House in 2022

Former Biden adviser Anita Dunn blamed “certain leaders” for Democrats’ losses in the House of Representatives in 2022. Her comments came after former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she had “never been more impressed” with Biden’s “politics.”

in Interview During an interview with Politico’s “Playbook Deep Dive” podcast, Dunn, a longtime Biden aide, was asked about his new role with the Democratic super PAC Future Forward and his work to select Harris as vice president, and he stressed the need for Democrats to win the House and Senate elections as well.

Dunn said switching his support from Biden to Harris “isn’t as hard as it seems.”

“Everybody is saying he’s still very angry at Pelosi. [former President] Obama, [Senate Majority leader Chuck] “Schumer and, to a lesser extent, Schumer,” Politico’s Ryan Lizza wrote, referring to reports that Democratic leaders were pressuring Biden to end his reelection campaign, which Biden eventually called off last month.

Dunn responded by saying Biden supports Harris “1,000 percent.”

“The challenge we face is winning this election, keeping Donald Trump from being president again and winning the House of Representatives. If some of our leaders had done a little better job in 2022, we might be in control today, but we haven’t,” she said.

“That’s the challenge we have to address,” Dunn added. “It’s a critical challenge because, as the president said, this country is at a tipping point.”

Speaker Pelosi, who has reportedly been working behind the scenes to get Biden to drop out of the Democratic nomination, said earlier this week that she had not spoken to the president since Biden announced his withdrawal.

CNN previously reported Biden said he was “angry” that the former speaker had not endorsed him amid calls for him to drop out of the race.

“I’ve never been more impressed with his political activism,” Pelosi told The New Yorker’s David Remnick on “The New Yorker Radio Hour” Thursday.

“They won the White House. Bravo,” she added. “But my concern is that this is not going to happen, and we have to make the decision to make this happen. The president has to make the decision to make it happen.”
