Jake Paul eyes 2028 Olympics after watching USA boxing’s struggles

Jake Paul has the solution to Team USA’s struggles in Olympic boxing: Jake Paul.

The YouTube star turned boxer wants to wear the Stars and Stripes at the Los Angeles Olympics after the U.S. has only managed to win one medal so far at the Paris Games.

Omari Jones won a bronze medal in the welterweight division, but the U.S. missed out on a medal in men’s boxing, especially since there was no bronze medal bout and a semifinal appearance was all that was needed to win a medal.

Jamal Harvey came close to winning the featherweight division but lost in the quarterfinals to Munarbek Saytbek-Uul of Kyrgyzstan.

Paul thinks he can do better.

“I plan to box in Los Angeles in 2028,” says Paul, who will be 31 in 2028. Bettle said. “I’m tired of just waiting for the U.S. team to win the gold medal.”

Paul has won 10 of his 11 professional cruiserweight bouts, but none of them have been particularly notable. Besides winning gold, he also has his sights set on a world title shot.

That conquest still has a long way to go for Paul, who is due to fight Mike Tyson in November.

Paul won his last bout by technical knockout against former UFC fighter Mike Perry in July.

He had recently considered retiring to focus on other ventures, but appears to have changed his mind.

Paul has been spotted at the boxing events at Roland Garros during the Olympics.

“I’m not retiring,” he said, “and I think it just added a couple of years to my boxing career.”

“Los Angeles. America. Super cool. Just drop the bomb.

“You heard it here first. Gold medal, brother.”
