Jack Black’s latest film box office forecast Borderlands The outlook is bleak, with the video game version bringing in just over $1 million in previews on Thursday.
This marks the second consecutive career setback for Black, whose band Tenacious D broke up last month after a bandmate publicly called for the assassination of former President Donald Trump.
Borderlands“The Prisoner of Azkaban,” directed by horror master Eli Roth, reportedly grossed $1.3 million domestically on Thursday, a disastrously low figure for a big-budget film that’s rumored to have cost more than $120 million to make. The film’s opening weekend gross is expected to be well below $20 million.
As Breitbart News reported, Borderlands The film has been panned, with some critics saying it may be the worst movie of the year, with one going so far as to call Jack Black “obnoxious and unfunny.”
In the film, Black voices the character Claptrap, a cartoonish android who was a staple of the video games. The cast also includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Gina Gershon and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Last month, Jack Black found himself fighting for his career after fellow Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass mocked Donald Trump the day after the former president survived an assassin’s bullet.
During a performance in Australia, Gus yelled out to the audience, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

The criticism quickly came and Black decided to disband the band, at least temporarily.
Jack Black is one of Hollywood’s most prominent celebrity fundraisers for Joe Biden, having served as the main sponsor of a glitzy June fundraiser that also featured George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
