Vice President Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), are wrapping up their first tour of key battleground states in the run up to November, holding a campaign event in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Harris is hoping to build a stronger base of support among Hispanic voters in Nevada, a key battleground state where Biden, who dropped out of the race last month to back his vice presidential candidate, beat Trump by just 2.4 percentage points in 2020.
Early polls in the state show Trump leading with 46.8 percent support, to Harris’s 44.3 percent, according to The Hill/Decision Desk Polling Index.
The rally came just days after forecaster Cook Political Report tilted Arizona, Georgia and Nevada in Harris’ favor as she continues to close the gap in the polls with Trump, and the states are now considered “close races.”
The event is scheduled to begin at 8:20 pm EDT.
