PGA Tour: Jordan Spieth among popular players to MC at Wyndham Championship

The Wyndham Championship was a wild, marathon weekend to close the PGA Tour regular season, with play starting on Friday and qualifiers not taking place until Sunday morning.

For many golfers competing this week, it was a battle to finish in the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a final score of 70 or lower.

Many players were hoping to move up the rankings to keep the season going for as long as possible.

The race to the top of the leaderboard is fierce. Matt Kuchar is one stroke behind heading into the third round looking to extend his playoff winning streak. He has never missed a FedExCup playoff in his career.

Nominees include Cameron Young, Aaron Lai, Chad Ramey, Max Glaserman and Billy Horschel.

Through the first two rounds of play, 1,154 birdies and 49 eagles were recorded, along with 51 scores of 66 or lower over the first two days.

The cut line at Sedgeville Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina was four under par.

Let’s take a look at the players who were eliminated in the qualifying rounds.

Most of the popular players will miss the cut and won’t play in the tournaments that will award FedEx Cup points.

Jordan Spieth is very close to the top 70 line, but it looks like he’ll still be playing in Memphis.
