US Olympian A’ja Wilson has explicit 2-word description of teammate after close gold medal win

A’ja Wilson praised Kaahliah Copper for helping the U.S. women’s basketball team win the gold medal at the Paris Olympics with a one-point victory over France.

Copper came off the bench to score 12 points, including a two-pointer and the final free throw of the game. Wilson added 21 points and 13 rebounds, but was asked to talk about Copper in the aftermath of the 67-66 win.

“That son of a bitch,” Wilson said.

Copper kept her cool and pulled within three with five seconds left. If she’d missed one of the free throws, France’s Gaby Williams would have tied the game with a long two-pointer. If she’d missed both, Williams’ shot might have sealed the win.

Copper currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury. This is her first Olympic medal. She was on the team when it won gold at the 2022 World Cup in Australia.

Copper’s teammate, Diana Taurasi, won another gold medal, adding another chapter to her illustrious resume.
