A New York City couple is facing criticism after taking a creative approach to charging guests an attendance fee to hold the wedding of their dreams amid high inflation.
Nova and Reemo Stiles saved $70,000 on their planned June 2023 wedding after deciding they needed to cut back on the number of guests, adding a price tag to their 350-person guest list. said of New York Post.
Attendance numbers dwindled to 60 people after the content creator duo announced they would be selling tickets for the event for $333.
In a TikTok video explaining their choice, Nova questioned, “How could you choose Nona over Titi?”
“We couldn’t do it, so our guests chose us,” the newlyweds explained.

For $333 a ticket, Styles’ family and friends enjoyed a seat at the ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a seat on a luxury party bus, and a lobster and steak dinner at One World Trade Center.
Nova likened the event to a Beyoncé concert. Interview With ABC7.
“And I said, ‘People are [a] “They knew the Beyoncé concert would be an amazing experience for their guests, so they were trying to stress them out and sell more wedding tickets,” the bride recalled.
“I was like, ‘Man, people aren’t coming,'” Reamo said.
People did come, but the couple also received criticism from those around them.
“‘I’m never gonna spend money on a ticket,’ ‘I don’t care,’ ‘Who do you think you are? Jay-Z and Beyoncé?'” Nova recalled.
Social media users who witnessed the wedding also reacted to the concept of a ticketed wedding.
“I think that’s very selfish. You can have a really nice wedding without charging guests over $300 to watch your wedding,” one YouTube commenter wrote. post.
