A Tennessee dental clinic has fired staff members involved in a viral video that mocked a cancer patient’s personal diary, the hospital said in a statement.
The video, originally posted to Snapchat, was captioned, “Found a patient’s diary. Now it’s story time.” Staff members can be heard laughing as the diary details the patient’s progress through cancer treatment.

The video shows a Premier Dental Group staff member reading the diary aloud in the office, although it is unclear who the diary belongs to.

“No dialysis, no radiation, no infusions,” one diary entry reads. Staff members can be seen laughing at the options presented to them and the patient’s concerns.
Since the video was posted, Knoxville’s Premier Dental Group has been bombarded with negative reviews on Yelp and other public pages.

“Premier Dental Group of Knoxville has been made aware of an incident in which an employee was videotaping inappropriate behavior. This behavior is completely unacceptable and contrary to our company values,” Premier Dental Group of Knoxville said in a statement released by Google.
“As a result, the employee responsible has been terminated with immediate effect. We are committed to maintaining a respectful and professional environment for all and will continue to take the necessary steps to uphold those standards going forward.”
It is unclear how many staff took part in the video or who read the patient diaries.
