Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Mike Hall Jr. was arrested Tuesday and charged with domestic violence and threatening a woman with a gun, according to reports.
ESPN reported that the player allegedly held a gun to the woman’s head and threatened to kill her during an argument on Monday evening, and a police report said Hall told the woman, “I’m going to kill you all. I don’t care.”
The incident reportedly occurred Monday evening at Hall’s home in Avon Lake, Ohio, west of Cleveland.
The woman told police she was engaged to Hall and had a daughter who was almost 1 year old. The argument had arisen over financial arrangements for the daughter she had with a previous partner.
The 21-year-old actor was charged with domestic violence but pleaded not guilty and was given a $10,000 bond prior to his release. His next court appearance is on September 10.
The woman told police Hall ordered her to leave the home, but when she tried to do so, he grabbed her, pulled her back inside the house and began threatening her. She also said Hall threw a baby bottle at her and tried to choke her with his hands.
The woman’s mother provided a detailed account of the assault, and police reported finding “several signs of a physical struggle” and at least two handguns on the floor. Hall had fled the area before police arrived.
The team released a statement acknowledging the arrest.
“We are aware of the incident involving Mike Hall Jr. last night,” the team said. saidAccording to New York Post“Mike and his representatives are in contact with the appropriate authorities. We are currently gathering more information and will have no further comment at this time.”
The Browns selected the Ohio State graduate with the 54th pick in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft.
