Unruly, masked motorcyclists circling San Francisco traffic cop

Masked motorcyclists have been caught on video doing doughnuts and wheelies around traffic officers in tourist areas, and the Police Association says that if there were enough officers in police stations the motorcyclists would be held accountable for their actions.

Sunny Iqbal shot the video at the intersection with Lombard Street on August 4.

Known as “the crookedest road in the world” San Francisco Travel Featuredis one of the Golden City’s most famous attractions.

“I think there were more than 15 actual bikers.” Iqbal told local television station KGO.

“The bikers were coming down the hill, honking their horns. Then I saw one, two, three bikers start going around the officers. They were doing wheelies, burning tyres.”

According to the videographer, the bikers – some on dirt bikes, some on motorcycles and some on ATVs – were “visibly antagonizing” San Francisco Police Department traffic officers wearing yellow vests who were watching the situation.

As tourists looked on in amazement, Iqbal said no additional police officers showed up and no one was arrested.

“These are nothing more than a group of thugs on bicycles,” the San Francisco Police Officers Association said in a statement to KGO.

“They knowingly endanger the lives and safety of innocent motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians.”

The police union statement went on to say, “The problem with being short by more than 600 officers is that we do not have the number of officers on shift to safely subdue large groups of people who are behaving aggressively towards both bystanders and responding officers. If we had the necessary number of officers, we would have seen many more handcuffed thugs.”

Tourists watched the bikers, but no additional police officers showed up and no one was arrested, Iqbal said. Story

As for bikers, some told KGO they’ve been seen in other tourist areas without helmets and wearing masks.

Neither the San Francisco Police Department nor the police union immediately responded to Fox News Digital’s requests for information and comment.
