“My first record came out in 2012, and it was a testament to teen pregnancy, figuring out my senior year of high school, getting a job, all of these things,” said Walker, who grew up listening to ’90s country. “I was looking at this new record and thinking about me and my girlfriend. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on July 3rd of this year, and I thought, ‘Wow, this is what this 20-year journey has been like,’ all the things God has led us through, all the obstacles we’ve been through in life, and I think, ‘Wow, God has been faithful every single time and got us through all of these obstacles.'”

He described his latest work as a culmination of 20 years of “life experiences and lessons learned” and was inspired by a realization he had during a conversation with his wife.

“We were sitting on our back porch and April said, ‘We are living the days we dreamed of,'” he said. “I said, ‘Yeah, it really is.’ I don’t think life is smooth sailing for anybody. Life is hellish, and some people go through hell multiple times. … But if you really look at your life and what God has for you, this is exactly the days we dreamed of.”

“It’s not about what your house looks like, or what car you have, or how much money you have in your bank account. If a family loves each other, and is looking forward to mom coming home from work and dad coming home, and is looking to Jesus and trying to move forward and saying, ‘God, whatever you give us,’ that’s a beautiful life.”

The songs on the album are about Walker’s life, family and personal experiences. The singer told CP that the album Mostly me It’s the best record I’ve ever put out. … It has very vertical songs about Jesus and about our lives and our kids.

The song “Young Love” is a celebration of everlasting love and pays tribute to his relationship with April.

“My relationship with my wife is the most important thing to me. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this July and have felt God’s hand in every aspect of our lives.

“Not everyone is going through a teen pregnancy, but a lot of people are going through young love, whether they just graduated high school, or they just graduated college, or whatever time it may be, but there’s a way to celebrate through the perspective of Jesus who guided it.”

Walker recently performed at the Grand Ole Opry. His song “Man of the Middle Cross” He was nominated for Recording of the Year in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots category at this year’s Dove Awards, and his songs can be heard on both Christian and Country radio.

“It’s about who you are and who you’re meant to be. He said, “I think people can get through it quickly. … I think people appreciate the authenticity. The Rhett who wrote the title song at Publix is the same Rhett you see on stage and at home. … The more I travel, the more I realize this is a big country world of people just trying to get on with life and love Jesus.”

“The accolades are great, but what excites me most is connecting with people through music. He added:
