A Colorado businessman has been charged with felony assault after he was filmed throwing a 15-year-old boy to the floor of an In-N-Out Burger after he accidentally splashed water on his wife, police said.
Lucas Kalisher, 55, was at an In-N-Out in Loveland in the early morning hours of August 4 when he was “splashing water around” with two friends and “accidentally splashed water” on a female customer. This was revealed by local police.
“As the juvenile approached her table to apologize, an adult male accompanying the female suddenly grabbed him, put both hands around his neck, pulled him down onto the table and threw him backwards onto the floor,” Loveland police said.
The video shows the man repeatedly telling the stunned boy to “apologise” before strangling him and throwing him to the tile floor.
“Don’t treat women like that,” said the CEO of private equity firm Summit Source Funding, who was later identified as Kalisher.
Bystanders reacted in shock, and one person can be heard on the video complaining that a much larger man “would pick on a kid like that.”
The man and his wife left the restaurant before police arrived, but witnesses eventually identified the man as Kalisher, police said.
A no-bail arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday and Kalisher turned himself in at 10:33 p.m.
Kalisher was charged with second-degree assault with strangulation, a felony, and one misdemeanor count of child abuse.
He is scheduled to appear for arraignment Wednesday afternoon.
Kalisher’s LinkedIn and Facebook pages (now deleted) listed him as CEO of private equity firm Summit Source Funding.
In June, he bought a $1.75 million, four-bedroom home outside Loveland, which also includes multiple pastures and shelters for his farm animals and equipment. According to the Zillow listing.
Before the suspect’s identity was revealed, a video of the shocking confrontation went viral online, prompting calls for help in tracking down the suspect, including from the father of the other boy seen in the video, who was furious that his son’s friend had been “assaulted by a grown man.”
