An enraged passenger hurled a computer monitor at a Frontier Airlines employee inside Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport after learning he had missed his flight, according to video of the altercation.
Shocking video of the incident posted last month shows the enraged woman climbing over the security counter, grabbing airline staff and beginning to scream.
When one of the employees pushed her back, she grabbed a computer monitor and threw it at the employees, hitting one of them in the stomach, and the video shows her picking up a second computer and slamming it against it.
The distraught woman then climbed back up, yelling at the Frontier employee, “You idiot!”
The traveller who filmed the incident told Storyful that the woman “lost her mind” after missing her flight and being banned from boarding.
Frontier Airlines declined to comment when contacted by The Washington Post on Wednesday and referred all inquiries to Chicago police.
police He told WGN-TV The unidentified 31-year-old woman threw a cell phone, hitting the 40-year-old victim, and police said she also struck the 24-year-old woman in the leg.
Police said the passengers then fled the airport.
The Chicago Department of Aviation, which operates O’Hare and Midway international airports, also declined to comment on the incident.
