TV tonight: Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey’s sweet new sitcom | Television

Father Issues

9pm, BBC Three
Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood returns to her comedic talents in this new father-daughter comedy. She plays Gemma, a vivacious 20-something hairdresser who panics when her roommate moves out after she falls pregnant after a one-night stand. To sort out her financial worries and living situation, she moves in with her sweet but slightly pathetic father, Malcolm (David Morrissey), who is struggling because Gemma’s mother left home and took their money with her. To further confuse this family dynamic, Gemma’s nagging but loveable sister, Catherine (Sharon Rooney), is in prison. So begins a tender, funny and moving story of repairing a relationship after things hit rock bottom. Holly Richardson

Who do you think you are?

9pm, BBC One
At the start of the latest series, actress Vicky McClure embarks on a genealogical journey. It is not a scenic one. There is real suffering in her lineage, from her grandmother Jean, the victim of a disorderly adoption and lost to an abusive family, to her great-grandfather Harry, who died in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Understandably, she is troubled by much of this information, but by the end, she finds it truly cathartic. Phil Harrison

Interview with the Vampire

9pm, BBC Two
In the most remote flashback yet, set in Paris in 1795, Lestat is persuaded to abandon his theatrical antics and focus on reviving the then-anticipated vampire colony. Back in the present, Daniel is being hacked to pieces by a pale man called RJ (Succession’s Justin Kirk). Or is he being saved? Ellen E. Jones

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

9pm, Skymax
After an eventful journey north, grungy American biker Daryl and hotshot French nun Isabelle finally arrive in Paris, and after paying their respects at Jim Morrison’s grave (sadly, no zombie cameos), they descend into the skull-filled catacombs in search of a decadent nightclub. Graham Virtue

Phantasmus

10pm, Sky Comedy
Those who missed The Mighty Boosh will enjoy this surreal, star-studded comedy from Los Espookies co-creator Julio Torres. In the final double bill, Julio is still trying to evade getting his identity card, but it’s Dylan O’Brien’s underwear-clad cameo that’s memorable. Global V
