‘Saturday Night Live’ Alum Shares Devastating Health Update

Former “Saturday Night Live” host Victoria Jackson revealed in a video posted to Instagram on Friday that her cancer has returned and is inoperable.

Jackson told fans she has “marbles” in her throat that are affecting her windpipe, and that due to its position doctors cannot help with surgery. The marbles “will eventually suffocate her to death,” she said. Jackson went on to say that her medical team has agreed to send her a “magic pill” to her home that may help her get through this stage of the disease. She lightened the mood of an otherwise very serious conversation with her followers with her characteristic sense of humor.

Jackson said she spent time Googling the prescription she was about to receive. Studies have shown that people who are prescribed the drug and take it as directed typically only have around 32 to 34 months to live. She made it clear to her fans that she believes her life is over and that she doesn’t have much time left.

The famous actress and comedian has been taking her recent health developments in stride and seemed to be trying to navigate the situation as gracefully and positively as possible.

Jackson quoted the Bible and put his life into perspective, remembering that God said Christians should expect to live about 70 years.

She added that she lives a full and happy life and believes God has spoken to her and invited her “home” in a peaceful and embracing way.

Jackson was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 10 years ago and beat it, but it has since recurred. She frequently posts about her illness on social media, telling her story in a comedic style. She shares videos and images from her medical appointments to keep her fans updated on her progress through the disease.
